Year 1 have been looking at different materials to make a good hood for Little Red. We have looked at various different materials and discussed their suitability to make a hood. We made predictions and will test our predictions by making the hoods later in the week. Can you leave a comment saying what material will be best and why you think that?

In year 1 we have been looking at space on Thursday we had a wow day! Mr B came as he had crashed his rocket but shhhh! it’s a secret! We talked all about his rocket and his adventures in space with Space Ted! He let us try on his helmet and then we fired rockets across the class! After that we worked with Mrs Thomas creating parachutes for our lunar rockets. We went outside and had a competition to see who could make their parachute go furthest!
In the afternoon we made aliens and our own space helmets! As they say Space is ACE!!!!

We have been looking been looking at instructions. We thought of what an alien might need to know if they came to Earth. We decided they must learn how to brush their teeth. We used time connectives to create our own step by step instructions. We then filmed our partner listening to the instructions and brushing their teeth. Well done Isa,Idris and Marissa
Last week all of year 1 went to Usher street to take part in our stunning start wow day. We took part in lots of activities to start our new topic all about me! We had lots of fun things to do including tasting sweet and sour foods, creating footprints, and each class created a giant sculpture. Take a look at he fun we had and please feel free to leave a comment!
